Cultural events include lectures on a wide variety of topics from history of Sufism and Rumi to Christian sites of Turkey, from ecological and biological treasures of Turkey to its economic role in the Eurasia region, and concerts of various artists.
These lectures are typically done at our annual festival, or other special occasions such as the Turkey Day organized by the Houston World Affairs Council for area high school teachers. Please check Festival Schedule for exibition and presentation times. This year's performers/presenters include;

Bahri Bulut is a local artist from Avanos, one of the big centers for pottery and ceramics arts in Turkey. He started learning the art of pottery and ceramics during his childhood. Since 1985 he has been performing and presenting his art around the world in festivals and seminars. Sponsored by Turkey's Ministry of Culture, he performs live shows demonstrating the process of making traditional Turkish clay pottery. His show is referred to as a "don't miss experience" by visitors of the events he attends. Bahri's workshop can easily be spotted on the festival grounds. |
